A new start.

Well oh well, I never did a decent introduction to either myself or this blog of mine. So I decided to create one right now.

  1. My name is Rafi and i'm 15 years of age, but due to something I don't know, my face makes me seem like someone older, I don't know, like 25 something? Yeah I get that a lot.
  2. I am never this really confident kid thing, I'm not that good at maths and sciences and probably everything that has something to do with numbers and formulas. I just have this weird obsession to good grammar and amazing English, or maybe it's just me lol.
  3. This blog is a "personal style-dry humor-self publication" kind of blog so you may find different stuffs. I don't post that much, but I always try to keep my posts different and, well, me.
  4. My style. Ugh I always have a hard time stating a bold statement about how I define my style. I can get really moody and bipolar when it comes to what I wear. Most times I wear stuffs like graphic-tees, acid jeans, high-tops when I'm feeling laid back. But when I get dressy and prep, I prefer wearing my plaid-ey oxford shirts, chinos, and a pair of fresh brogues or good kicks. To sum it all, my style is this skater-ey, with a little smudge of 80s/90s thrift store feel - but beware, I can take you back to a 1920s Broadway show when I feel like it.
LORD THIS POST TURNS OUT TO BE SOOO LONG. Okay so maybe that's a tweeny little intro about me-self. Stay dope.

Dries Van Noten Menswear Fall 2012 - Review!

Dries Van Noten. This line has always puts on exciting shows, and always won the critic's heart with their patterns. They pulled it off greatly in their Fall 2012 collections as well.

As cited from style.com, the collections seemed like a concoction of Frank Zappa and Oscar Wilde in one room. Imagining the mixture of those men has left me very curious. So I dragged my ass and started looking at the pieces. There is no doubt that Wilde's charisma can be felt with the elegant dress pants and trench coats, so does Zappa's. The graceful psychedelic, 60-s like patterns emphasizes how deeply inspired Dries Van Noten is to both of these inspiring men.

Let's note down to the show-pieces. First of all, the color-splashed jumpers encompasses the true vision of this terrific designer, and how it  is matched with tight-fitted dress pants and burgundy-to-brown brogues.

Dashing trench coats and other sorts of amazing outerwear are featured in this collection as well, as Fall is approaching fast, outerwear is never a speck of dust in a giant's eye.

Dries Van Noten is absolutely a line worth the respect. Forever a fan.

Rag & Bone Fall 2012 Menswear Review!

Bonjour readers, thank God I got the time to update this blog of mine. Now, i'm gonna do a review for one of my favorite menswear brand, Rag & Bone.

For this year's Falll 2012 collection, i'll go straight to my point. I can describe the collection in three words: sublime, exotic, dandy.

Let me emphasize the first word first, sublime. This collection brought a glimpse of Old-British-India vibe to their pieces, putting bold patterns and complete with all the worn-out picturesque features of embellished appliques, ikat patterns and tapestries. There's no better word to describe such glamour to the word sublime.

Exotic? How can sublime and exotic be an absolute wrap? This collection combined two opposing cultures and mixed it in such powerful way - implying intricate ethnicity feature, urban, and a very delicate way to present how rough and manly-like those years are. Very exotic.

Thus this collection is also very dandy. It is obvious that the pale monochrome coats, outerwear and fur hats. It's very true that when people said that smart-dressed men are a turn on. Why? The models did such great work in bringing this spectacular collection.

We've gone cray cuz we da dopest!

Umm, so this is just a little [narcissistic] compilations of me and my sisters' webcam picture. Yeah, basically the title says all, "We've gone cray cuz we da dopest!" Heck yeah.

Cheers

Sighs.

Hi! It's been a long time for me [obviously your favorite blogger] to update this blog. Lemme tell you the reason behind these inconveniences.

  1. I've been struggling to search and/or enter certain schools and I need LOTS of long hours to study [which basically is far from the word enjoyable and such]
  2. I've had this curfew for using the computer and yes, gonna kill myself for it.
  3. My grades are degrading and it will ironically proceed degrading if I don't start to study in constant
  4. MY NATIONAL EXAM IS IN A 1-MONTH COUNT. So no shopping, no blah-blah-blahs for a few.
I would like to present my deepest apology for these matters and I will therefore still try to update as much as I can but I still need to prioritize my essentials first, for now.

But that doesn't mean that I'll neglect you. I WON'T! Hahaha.

xx,

Rafi

Menswear F/W 2012

I've been longing for Menswear F/W 2012 ever since because I've always been a fan of F/W winter clothing. The highlights of this year's Menswear F/W includes creative color blocking (I really love the ones Kenzo did), bold patterns and dapper-looking suits which perfectly suits the F/W weather.

These are my 3 favorite picks from Menswear F/W 2012 collection.

Kenzo : I'm a fan of the color blocking (orange+ grey? J'adore!). But I personally don't really like the second picture where they combined blue polka-dots with orange. I'm sorry but a no from me for that.

Acne: Yes, yes, yes! Those three words perfectly describes how I felt about this collection. The bold colors, the dark-colored chinos, flawlessly fitted with leather brogues. But one thing, I don't enjoy much of the hand-bag. I thought that it exposes the feminine side a little too much.

Burberry: I really love the trench coats, the dapper looks, and the Old British-esque feel from the hat. And btw, I'll die to have the wolf shirt! Like, obviously. The leather shoes are gonna be a huge hit this season.

Well, I think that's it for now. Adieu

xx, Rafi.
